  Sorry, but many of us won’t agree with her, in red wines smells like tar, leather, etc. are what we are willing to pay the bigger bucks for! And, yes, she does need to use better stemware!

  I slightly disagree. A bidder taste serve a physical purpose by causing slight pain on your tongue increasing blood flow and in return increases taste and sensitivity in the tongue. A strait out bad smell serves no physical purpose & doesn’t increase taste in some way.

  very informative, however, the correct wine glass is crucial to the placement of the wine itself on the palet… white and reds have their own style, wider mouth on the red since it needs to breathe and odors alter… get the good stuff out next time…:)

  yeah i dont like the way madeira smells, but i like the instant feeling it gives me the taste is bad to but a 1977 maderia does the trick
